"Kith" is an old Scottish word that basically means "friends and neighbors"; What a fitting name Because it is truly Friends and neighbors that make KITH a success.

The way KITH was started is a success story in its own.

The founders of Kids In Total Health (Dani and Cathy) are both mom’s who know first hand, the pain of abuse. "We realized through our own confusion that we needed to "do something" to help our children and ourselves." "We know the deep heart-hurt that parents experiance. The frustration that keeps you from helping your child. We do not profess to be "perfect parents" or even good ones, but we certainly do our best."

In 1994 they started going to a local church. West County Community Church in Sebastopol California. Rob Thommarson is the Pastor. (Dani’s daughter calls him pasture) He started giving a talk on "developing your spiritual shape". That turned the lights on for these two moms. "we realized abused children needed somewhere safe to take back their childhood".
