The Western States Region of the Alliance for Community Media is:
- A Support System
- Comprised of individuals, organizations and institutions from six western U.S. States, the region is designed to provide a network of community media participants so ideas can be shared, problems discussed and solutions generated.
- A Resource
- The region collects and makes available information relative to the politics, policies, and operations of public, educational, and government access activities.
- An Advocate
- Through PEG access related activities, the region promotes the concepts of community use of technology, citizen access, local autonomy, and media literacy throughout the Western States.
Alliance for Community Media - National
The Alliance for Community Media is a national non-profit membership organization committed to assuring everyone's access to electronic media. The Alliance represents the interests of an estimated 1.5 million community, religious and charitable groups and individuals who use the public, educational and government (PEG) access cable television channels and facilities to speak to their communities. The Alliance also serves the interests of over 950 PEG access organizations and local origination cable services throughout the country.
